3 s rule shoot shovel shut up
Personally I would give the owners hell fire and brimstone! Telling them that they better tie up their remaining dogs before they go missing. I don't know what to tell you to do about the damage but maybe you should post about it in the Health and Wellness thread section?

Tell the owners and you are only opening up yourself to retaliation trust me on this I know firsthand therefore refer to my earlier post

If none of your deer were killed and there's nothing to be compensated for, I would SSS.

I have a buddy that had a similar incident but lost deer a few years ago and just to let you know they called the sheriff out and come to find out the dog's owners home insurance is responsible for any damages done. It would be in your best interest to get a sheriff report and call their insurance company. On a side note, the 2 dogs they put down had collars on with id tags and were expensive dogs that the owners could not deny ownership and responsibility of, I do not know your situation but it would be worth checking into.

Call the sheriff and have it documented they are in the wrong if there dog is on Your property. What if the other dogs come back when your not home and your deer end up in worse shape. Then you don't have any proof. What if the buck that broke his skull out dies in the next couple days.

ER that is a whole lot of what ifs but here is a big what if what if they are mad about the loss of there dog and you come home to a pen full of sick or dead deer this happened with our horses shot at the dogs to scare them( no really aimed low to throw dirt on them but got one in foot) went a told them what happened so they could tend to the dog I came back home and they put a high power round through the tree 5 foot over my head called sheriff they did basiclly nothing I found a few bullet holes in the barn over the next several weeks no animals hurt but what if

so if you sss and dont get it documented, what happened when your buck dies and all your does abort, and the dogs come back for round two, if you got one leave it lay and call the law,
8 years ago i lost 10 bucks that beat the fence apart trying to get away from the dogs who dug under the fence + the 10 or more fawns which got mangled and other animals i put down - didnt get a dime because insurance company required a report from the law to document
two years later another dog showed up, shot the dog in the fence, called the law, called the owner, insurance tried to get out of it but my I's were dotted anf T's were crossed this time and i was compensated for everything i lost plus

Sucks we have to worry about this stuff but its on us to keep them safe. 2 strands of hot wire and 3ft predator wire hooked to the bottom of my fence helps me sleep at night.
