Well even old guys can have something new happen when raising fawns.  Started today with weakness.  Think it had too much sun as it didn't come out of the sun and go to the barn.  Went from weakness to flat on the ground in shed.  Bottle fed a little.  Now it is up but pushes it's head to the wire and chews on it all the time.  Is this just a symptom of heat exhaustion and pain or something else??  Ideas??

I'm going to give it Banimine but nothing else.  It is not bloated and will eat.

Any thought on what else I should do??

Thanks guys.

Jack

Fluids never hurt. A shot of B-12 is where you may start.  Could be listeria... Best of luck

Thanks Josh I was also thinking Listeria but it came on in hours.  She was fine at the 6AM feeding and ate well.  B12 is a good idea and I will give that and some fluids and Banimine.  I knew all I had to do was ask and someone would add to my thinking.  Thanks.

I'll tell you guys how she is tomorrow.  I think she will make it.

SHE MADE IT AND IS FINE  I gave the banimine and b12 at 8:45 and within a half an hour she was back to normal.  11 PM we took out the night bottle feeding and she was right back to normal pushing to get at the bottle.  We only gave 8 oz to her.  She did just have heat stroke so file that down in your books for symptoms I know I have.

Thanks.

Jack I would do another B-12 shot just to be safe. It cannot hurt. Great News!
