Fawns are here !!!

Ya the other one is about to fawn too will be any day now. Her fawns were smaller than her last ones she had and she was huge this time so I am hoping I missed one some how. That would be nice to have triplets but I will be happy with the two healthy ones though, it is a huge improvement over last year. How are things up your way.

It looks like a Buck on the right and a doe on the left. Just a guess but how'd I do?

La Bone Collector,

You are good. That drives our heard manager nuts when we can just walk up look and tell buck or doe. What signs do you look for?

Had a doe give me 3 bucks and a doe fawn out of Maxbo Ranger Tues eve. in a rain storm!

Congratulations Wayne on your Ranger quads you are so lucky hope they are healthy. I have been struggling with quads this week two still born and two very small. We have been working hard to keep body heat stable. The weather this fawning season has overall helped vs last year.

In the last couple of days we have had 3 sets of twin doe fawns out of Updraft. One mother is a Max Thrust/Avalanche, another is a Tomahawk/Moose doe, and yet another is a Avalanche/Pegasus/double bred Mr Awesome doe.

Had my second doe fawn last night 2 doe fawns healthy and looking good. Thats all for me this year 1 buck and 3 doe all out of Dennis's 44 mag son. Thanks Dennis!

It sounds like everybodys have a great fawning season so far. I've had two does give me 3 doe fawns and 1 buck fawn all healthy and strong but did have a bit of bad luck! My last doe to fawn was checked at 10:30 am and all was well and by 12:30 I found her dead trying to give birth. Very sad loss and when I opened her up she had a buck and a doe fawn in her! We found out she had a bad infection and the sad part is she showed no sign's! No nothing not even loose poop. Hope all have a great fawning season! James Staats. Tailor Made Whitetails

Thats too bad chucker, I am down to one doe left to fawn, I had gorgeous pieds born sometime last night, twin does, I will get pics as soon as the rain stops, whats really cute is they both have the same gorgeous pattern. check back later for the pics, i am so excited

Anytime we loose one of our deer that we are intrusted to take care of its a bad day!Im just amazed at how well they can hide being sick.I watch my does like a hawk and i still did not see one sign she was even feeling off.

How can we protect them if we cant see anything wrong?

I know that raising any livestock is a gamble but it still never gets easy lossing one and there alway one of your best ones. She was my Rolex doe... Im glad to hear that most fawns are arriving here safe and sound. It rained here hard last night and i think its headed east..... Jim

It quit raining, so i got some pics, they are alot alike, the one in the second pic has some more white up her feet though, I would guess them both to be around 6-7 lbs. I wanted to keep them but I have to sell I committed to buy a couple fawns and need some extra money to help pay for them, I will get more pieds next year. If interested call 814-239-2990. I am pulling tomorrow night for bottlefeeding.

Chuckerjim, sorry about your loss. That would really be a tough one to handle. Sometimes things just don't make sense. Good luck with your fawns. Allen
