We had twin American Express bucks today but one was still born. UGH! Their dam is a Maxbo Ranger on Thunderstorm doe with Pine Creek's JB's sister as the anchor. We are thankful one is healthy! Ok I am editing this to my post. The Ranger doe passed another dead fawn 6 hours after the first was born. She hadn't moved from the original spot where she birthed the first two. She didn't attempt to rupture the placenta on the last fawn. I removed it and photographed it. The body was greenish black in color and was less than half the size of the still born fawn and the healthy buck fawn. I sent the photo to my DVM who informed me that it was a miracle the one fawn was born alive. She said the other one had been dead inside her for some time and was very toxic to the other fawns and the doe. I am darting mom with Draxxin & will be paying DVM Jerri Lee to bottle feed the living fawn. I am very thankful it's a Saturday and that I've had the opportunity to spend most of the day with the deer.
