I just spoke with Russ Bellar this morning. Savage Nation had to be cut off in velvet this year due to an injury. The injury was to his front leg, not his antlers. His antlers were 100% intact. The antlers were sent to the taxidermist to have the velvet removed and be mounted on a skull plate. They were not officially scored before they were sent off. Savage Nation will be officially scored at NADEFA and that score will have to be the winner of the straw.
Russ said to say sorry for not officially scoring them before he sent them off. This will give everyone a chance to keep guessing and look at them in person at the Chupp Sale.
