what does one do if he got 6 to mix of 100mg xylazine on an open cut and is numb? heart rate is 92-96 meats per minute...???

Had that happen to me. Don't know if it helped but put a little tolazine on cut area and waited it out. Other than hand numb nothing else happened. Don't think your in big trouble.

BS!!!!! Get to a hospital. I know a vet that nearly DIED from absorbing Xly. into an open wound.

I just got back from the hospital, They called pioson control told me i was going to be ok and gave me the bill. So i guess im ok... thanks guys

Cameron glad to hear you are ok....scary stuff....just shows how easy accidents can happen....got to be on our toes when dealing with the dangerous stuff.......again glad you went to doctors and you are ok!!

Now that I know you're ok Cameron, I will have to say, there has to be a Redneck deer farmer joke in here somewhere.

Instead of calling 911 go to the forum and wait for a reply!!!

Glad you're ok,

Horseshoe

Very relieved to hear that you are OK... having said that, the above quote is the funiest thing I've hear/read all week!!!

Ya just never know what you are going to learn on here. Good to hear your OK. Allen

haha thanks guys... hears your redneck part of the story... man gets drug in him and call a vet not a personal physician.

vet said wait it out... so while i was waiting i figured i'd share the the experience...

Lesson # 1 in chemical capture. Wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) like safety glasses, latex or nitrile gloves and for some chemicals a respirator. Telazol and Xylazine are very dangerous drugs to humans and they can cause death when absorbed, injested or injected. The use of these chemicals is something not to be taken lightly. Just think about it for a moment..........you put 1ml of this stuff in a deer and they are out like a light. Deer are 24 times more resistant to these anisthetics than we are. So it doesn't take much of the stuff to really screw up your day.....or life for that matter. Oh yea......if you think you have been exposed to one of these chemicals.....run do not walk to the nearest hospital or call 911. NEVER I repeat NEVER use another drug like Tolazine as an antagonist. Besides, Tolazine does not reverse the effects of Telazol.

Here's my crack at the redneck jokes:D:

If you respond to someones question from the forum in two minutes:eek: and you only type four words/min:eek:... YMBADFR!

If you respond three times before the ambulance can show up:cool:.... YMBADFR!

Only the serious side glad you are OK!:)

Glad to hear that you are OK.

Great lesson for all of us! No matter how careful you are, things can happen. I believe that's part of Murphy's Law.

You may remember DMSO - many thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, but then the world began to realize that the DMSO (being a great solvent) could and did carry other things into the body.

We all have to be careful so that we can enjoy these "babies" longer!
