Back some five years ago Mark kept a real close-eye on Reno when he had a six inch tine broken and hanging on the curve of his left beam. Mark put him down at least once to treat him and at last account he is still alive. I wouldn't doubt that there is a camera on Free Agent that is robot operated 24 hours a day. He probably sprays him down for flies once a day also. JOE

pictures dont do this deer justise i think after feeding this deer out of my hand he is going to be over 350"

I have to agree. After having seen pics of Free Agent and then going to see him in person, there was no let down at all. He is just as big in real life.

Has anybody noticed that a doe fawn born in 2008 was sold by the Flees family just last January at the Top 30? That fawn was out of Kingpin and a Flees doe you might of heard about named Kristie. Kristie is the dam to Champ, the grand-dam to PJ, and the great grand-dam to Sudden Impact. How big of a steal was this at auction when so many might not have paid much attention to it since Kingpin was damaged at 2. Looks like somebody got a pretty good deal to me. JOE

Ironically enough, David bought that doe at the sale. He has faith in both Kingpin and the Flees does (any of them really). And yes, he did get a sweet deal, that's for sure.

How's everything in MN, Joe?

Holly, Congrats on your Kingpin doe fawn. We have had a weird summer up here. Some parts of the state have been wet, some dry. We were dry here until the the last month. We had 4.5" of rain from August 15th-20th and over 7" so far in August. This is the fourth year in a row the weather has done this in August. The big difference is I can count on one hand the days that have reached 90* this summer. Quite a contrast from the heat in the deep south. I hope some of this rain will get down to southern Texas soon. Thank-you for posting all those pictures in July. Joe

Hey Holly, tell David to be ready to buy another Kingpin doe this January. We are selling choice doe fawn out of Kingpin and a Doc/Reno/Heavy doe at the top 30 select. I know he has plenty of money ( lol), he has all of ours......lol

So what is the story on free agent. Does he dna to kingpin or sudden impact. What about dna on the bottom side. Is he registered in nadr.

That's cute Michael :D I will watch that one for him for sure.

I don't think Mark has the DNA back yet, but I am sure he will have it all registered through DNA Solutions.

You can read the full story (actually a number of interwoven stories) regarding Free Agent in the fall issue of Deer Tracking. Pretty cool how things work out! :) (or have I posted this already? If so, sorry !!;) )
