I'm New to Deerforums.com, but I'm active in trying to help our cause. We can sit and watch or we can stand up and do something, I choose to do something. I have a small Deer farm in Long Lane, Missouri, Not to far from my close friend Nathan Blosser. The MDC is trying In my opinion to eliminate deer farms and hunting ranches in Missouri, By using CWD as a tool to fulfill their goal. Along with Joe and Kurt Humphrey we have started a page on Facebook called (Our Missouri Whitetails) this page has been made to help promote the truth and the myths of CWD, other diseases that our industry faces as well as promote our Healthy Whitetail...We need your help, please click LIKE on (Our Missouri Whitetails) and show your support. We have another meeting which is the 2nd of 4, to be held in Buffalo, Missouri on August 19th, we need support, we need bodies, and we need you.......thanks troy

Awesome, thanks for your effort. I don't have facebook, but I know a lot of others that do, so I will get them to check it out.

When is the fund-raiser and is it an in-person auction or exchange? I sent 3 straws to Sam this week to help with the cause. Would like to be able to bid on things, too.

The Missouri fund raising auction is August 10th. The auction will be broadcast live on DV Auction and you can bid from anywhere.

Jim: Please give me a call when you can.

Thanks...Bill Mayes

My son and I attended the meeting in Jefferson City, and WOW-there is no doubt that the conservation dept is out to shut us down, for the first time they came right out and said it. The speaker of the house has formed a committee of Mo. representatives to access the CWD situation. A spokesperson from the MDC was given an hour to speak, and then Dr. Kroll was given an hour to speak on our behalf. All I can say is Dr. Kroll did an awesome job. This battle is for real, and deer farming in Mo. will be a thing of the past if we don't act now. We need all the help we can get. Darren

I found this on another website....So does this look like they are really worried about cwd and if they would have tested 40,000 animals again would the infection rate be much lower.

The leaders at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources simply follow the ideological agenda of its hunter clientele. Since killing deer is the primary attraction for hunters, the department does not want to threaten the deer hunt. But they are doing just that. Testing for chronic wasting disease has been drastically reduced as CWD rates in our state rise. In 2002, just after CWD was recognized here, 40,000 deer were tested and the rate of infection was 0.51 precent. In 2012, 5.13 percent of 6,611 deer tested showed infection — a 10-fold increase in 10 years.(Quote)

Mike,

do you remember where you found this info at? I would love to use it in a research argument paper I am writing for college right now, but I would need a cite source.

The more info I can collect the better by case is showing how one sided this disease is looked at and regulated. the deer farmer is in an uphill battle but thanks to guys like the one who started this thread we will fight for our rights.

Thank you, we just need to be one voice, educate everyone. If we don't we will loose what we have grown to know and love.....Whitetail Deer
