scoring deer

Well this wasn't aimed at any one breeder , but i can see that more breeders are making a effort to make sure the public are aware of there deers potential and honest scores and i commend them for that!!

Virgil If your gonna call out one (Curt)than you should call out all! You seemed to have appointed yourself the scoring sheriff!

I will stand behind Curt and his score for Rolex. I am a certified SCI scorer. I took my class from the same master scorer that scored Rolex at the NADEFA convention. I use to work for a breeder up in Michigan here. I had a set of antlers with me from a very non-typical animal. We had a few different people in the class score the animal. Interestingly enough we ended up with several different scores to boot. So here is the second problem that can occur. If you get some one that scores your animal and it is different the next person. I wanted to throw in my good word for you Curt as I heard it from the horses mouth who scored Rolex, and said to me he was the new world record.

Rolex is a Hall of fame buck no matter what........i would be happy to have him in my pen anyday.............its going to be interesting to see this year what scores pop up with all the great bucks out there.....personally I do think if you are going to claim your buck as the world record it should be scored at the NADeFA convention....i don't know of any other fair way of doing it.

IF you noticed I did not start this thread so I'm not the only one that see's this going on. My remarks are for all that give false scores I just used Curt cause his ads really confused me and they confused me in the past also.He nows what I mean my buddy did call him in person a year ago and lets just say he wasn't the Curt you all no and describe there was no mister nice guy. I think his words went something like this (If you don't like it then get out the business). I tried to bite my tongue but couldn't take it any more when i saw the original post I had to say my peice. It takes a reall man to say what is on his mine and not wory about what others think . In my eyes all men are equal no man is above another just because of what he has. I don't dislike anyone I just say it how I see it and if you don't like it that is your problem deal with it how you want. So quit trying to kiss someones butt to get browny points like a politition or something. If you have something to say to me then don't hide behind a noname signature this makes you look cowardly and i promise I will not dislike you for telling me how you feel. I have respect for those that speak their own mine even if i don't agree ask any of my freinds they will tell ya thats just how i am.

By the way nobody appointed me sherrif I just took the law into my own hands but, if you want you can call me sheriff or what ever else you want. I promise it won't hurt my feelings.

Well i started this thread not to point out any one person (at all)but this is s forum and ur asking for peoples opinon on things (thats everyones not just one group of people)johnny b i agree with what u say about different people coming up with diff scores cuz everyone has a diff aspect on things ,ive scored thousands of racks and i my self can come up with a little diff score sometimes as i rescore deer ,i would love to find out were this class is if anyone knows cuz i would love to take it.and once again it gets me introuble alot but i speak whats on my mind also but also this was only a question not a finger pointer!

Deer who's scores are exaggerated are pretty easy to spot and they only reflect poorly on the person advertising them. As many people out there that advertise unofficial scores, the last person I'd question is someone who's man enough to have his animal scored by master scoreres at a conference. In fact, I'm pushing for the TDA to not allow scores advertised in their catalogs or magazines unless they have been TDA score verified either through an approved BC or SCI scorer and / or measrued at a TDA event. This will cut out all the exaggerating. However, I don't think it will get much support

contact SCI and they have classes all the time. You may have to travel, but it is not that hard to do. They will teach you how to score any animal. Whitetails just happen to be included.

OK ,i got on there web site but no classes scheduled so i will call them.

One thing I can say about Curt he did score his deer at NADeFA , saying that he did it by the book. That is all you can ask from a person
