I've noticed that I get charged all the time with them in Michigan. I am going to move all mine to a facility in Alabama very soon.
Semen storage. Where is best?

Yup and i see it just went from $25 to $30 to push the button at transfer. How can some charge $10 or nothing at all to transfer and others need to slam ya $30 bucks? I can see a storage charge and a shipper charge but to push a button and charge that price is whats going to be their downfall.

I agree Rodger. Have you noticed anything to do with deer and deer farming is 3 times as expensive than any other species call and ask thes places how much to trancfer straws of bull semen.

I take the time to drive and pick any semen up that I don't have on the farm. I watch it go into my own tank because of several lessons learned the hard way. If you spend all the time planning, getting your doe synchronized and ready, then I think it is worth the time it takes to drive and get the semen. When I drove from Indiana to pickup semen from Hawkeye in Iowa with my own tank, they didn't charge me anything to drop it in my tank.

I pay the 30 when I buy a straw and have it transferred. But i noticed I just released a straw and got charged 30 again. Wonder if they are getting 30 on each side?

Well i don't understand why anyone would stay with the people in michigan!!!! I sold some semen from one of my bucks to a deer farmer that wanted it shipped there, so i told my vet to ship one . When the first one got there they said " the vet called a week later to ask if the tank arrived because the shipper was never returned. They told him the straw EXPLODED"
Sorry about that my son hit post. They then finally his sent the shipper back. I said give the guy another straw , the second one arrive they said the it wasn't sealed. He sealed it with a powder plug . The vet has shipped this semen to 3 other people and they split it 3 times with no issues . How many people can they disrepect and treat bad? They should bend over backwards to make a customer happy they charge us 3 times as much as a cattle farmer . I understand it is convenient to stay there , but they charge you for everything next they will start charging to talk on the phone. Deer farmers need to get there semen out of there and find other places to make them realize that we are the ones that make them successful.

The one in Alabama is a joke! They just sent me a bill for 9 straws they say I have there but I emptied my account last year. There's no accountability at that place,anyone can go in there and say they're you and clean you out. I was never asked for id or anything to prove who I was.
