Third Annual Venison/Elk Product Competition
The Cervid Livestock Foundation will be sponsoring a venison/elk product competition on Friday, March 19th at the NADeFA conference in Toledo, Ohio.
Categories offered for competition will be snack sticks, sausage, deli meat and jerky. Participants may enter all four categories, but will be limited to only one product in each category. Participants are asked to bring in 4 lbs. of each product by noon on Friday, March 19th. 2 lbs. of each product is needed for the tasting competition and an additional 2 lbs. of each product will be purchased by the Cervid Livestock Foundation for Friday night’s auction. Participants are also asked to provide business cards to be placed by their product after the votes are tallied.
Attendees of the conference will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite in each category on Friday afternoon. Awards will be presented to the 1st place winners in all four categories, plus a “Best of Show” award during Friday night’s awards banquet. In addition to the plaque awards, NADeFA will be purchasing 20 pounds of product from the first place snack stick & jerky category winners for distribution at the USAHA conference as a promotional tool for the venison/cervid industry.
