Those are some good lots you have there Wayne!

I would like to throw a plug out for a friend of mine here. Rod Haehlke from Breezy Hill Whitetails has 2 lots in the sale. He is Premier Consignor number 15. His lots are on pages 54 and 164.

I still can't believe he is putting the one on page 54 in the sale. Rod purchased a bred doe from Billy Sage and was able to leave it there to fawn and then be re-bred. A long and funny story that you can ask Rod about, the buck fawn from the first breeding never came to his place this past fall. So instead of bringing it home now he is selling it at the sale. Rod says he still has the mother and a full brother so he is ok with selling this buck at Billy's place.

This buck Rocks! He is a Shadow/Rolex/Flip/Chief. The Chief doe is the dam to Big Dog and was just made stronger with each breeding all the way to Shadow!

This buck is still in Ohio and will grow out his 2 year old rack there. Rod is guaranteeing 200" or your money back!

Your buying a 2 year old buck right off Billy Sage's farm. That don't happen every day.

Rod's other lot is on page 164 and is a 2009 bottle fed doe fawn. Loner/Minnie Maxbo/PA Geronimo/MO Geronimo. Minnie Maxbo's mother is also the dam to Maxbo Dominator.

Let's see. Double PA Geronimo line bred the right way. Double Flees from 2 directions through Poncho and Buster. And all this is split by Maxbo. Lot's of proven production built into this little girl.

The only issues you will have is deciding which of the many directions available to breed her!

Rod will have a booth at the sale or if you have questions you can call him at 715-574-4057

Thanks to everyone that has inquired about our lots in this sale, If you guys dont mind I am going to ad my info hear as well. Browning Whitetails has been selected as an Elite Consignor and all 4 of our lots are E16

1-E16:Choice 2010 doe fawn, choose from 4 bred does, you dont want to miss this consignment one of the choices is probably the only breeding like this avaliable today and maybe ever as the dam to this doe is now deceased, This has Maxbo Hardcore on Maxbo Ranger, on Maxbo, on Maverick, on Bucky............ I cant make it any better than this, there is alot of Maxbo in this breeding but the pedigrees on the bottom on all the Maxbo sons and daughters etc.. are different, We will be adding 2 additional bred does to this choice at the sale

2-E16: Choice 2009 Buck Fawn off the farm, this includes 9 buck fawns, 4 Maxbo Ranger, 2 Rolex, 2 Maxbo Hardcore, and 1 Jeckyl, almost all of these buck fawns were in hard antler or button by the middle of November, 3 are bottle fed and are actually bigger than the mother raised, some of the best looking 2009 button bucks I have seen anywhere, these are not my words but words from others that have visited to take a look.

3-E16: Choice Bred Doe from 4 choices 2 bred to Maxbo Ranger and 2 bred to Reno, one choice has PJ on top of Maxbo doe bred back to Ranger (double Maxbo) another choice includes Max, Rocket, Maverick, bred back to Maxbo Ranger

4-E16: Our 4th lot is a choice 2009 doe fawn, one is a Harcore daughter out of Max/Rocket Grandaughter, and the second is a Jeckyl daughter out of PJ/double Governor doe, we have a womb brother out of her dam who looks great. Better than average chance that these 2 will be bred they were in with the 9 button bucks mentioned above and I know that they both did come into heat prior to us removing the bucks 2 weeks ago. I can also tell you that the most desirable of these buttom bucks were also the most dominate in the pen

Stop by our booth at the sale for full pedigrees, and info regarding these lots, such as our first lot will have 2 bred does added to the 4 already in the book and we will also be offering 25% money back if you do not get your first choice meaning she does not have a doe fawn.

See you all there and Thank You for taking a look , if you do not have a sale catalog you can view these consignment on our website at www.browningwhitetails.com

I would like to thank the buyers of our lots at the Mid West Select Sale!!!!! It was VERY clear to all those in attendence that the DEER INDUSTRY is ALIVE and WELL! It was a GREAT SALE with lots of ENERGY in the air and on the auction floor. One of the most interesting things about it was BOTH of our LOTS were bought by NEW DEER FARMERS just going to put post in the ground this spring. One lived in Wisconsin and one in Indiana.Lots of interest at our booth also by either relativly new farmers or again ones JUST getting fence put up this spring. And if that wasn't interesting enough came home and SOLD two more deer to two other states that had been at the sale! Again THANKS TO ALL BIDDERS AND BUYERS OF OUR LOTS!!!! You can be sure WE will do EVERYTHING possible to make YOUR SHOW of confidence in us and your NEW START IN THE DEER INDUSTRY!!!!! A GOOD ONE :)

I have deleted this post because I believe I was inappropriate in how I was trying to convey my message, my mistake sorry

Rick, you big bragger:p:p:p

Now, now just kidding everyone! :)

Congrats to Rick, Wayne, and all the sellers, and all the buyers. It was another great show. And yes the industry is still going and will continue to keeping moving forward.

I enjoyed meeting some more great people and talking with everyone. I missed your name, sorry. But I met a guy from NY who says he reads the forums here. He bought some good deer and will do well with them.

My friend Rod sold 2 lots and one of the buyers was indeed a new farmer just starting out. It is great that new blood is getting into the biz.

I felt the auction showed that a strong pedigree is important. So all you new people starting out keep that in mind.

Rick's example above supports that. (Thanks Rick for sharing that with everyone) Buy quality and breed it right and it will give you the returns you want.

Some guys were not so lucky in that they did not even get their live breeding cost returned. Others bought animals took the cream, rebred and again did not get their original investment back. While others on the surface did OK. Overall I thought the sale was a success with the state of the economy. Midwest keep up the good work in promoting the industry.

Alex, I agree some have taken a beating on some animals........But some had the misfortune of buying at a time prices were too high and bought without what Rick and Roger are talking about getting a good program together and trying to buy and invest wisely.

RICK I guess what you are saying to get in the breeding end of this deer thing and to be able to sell at these breeder auctions a guy can plan on droppin 10-15 grand.Thats to get the paperwork you and wayne are speaking of.Thats a good chunk of change for a guy just startin out and then you have to build up your name to be able to sell those animals!

Good topic and good discussion. Rick, I would have to agree about the 5 versus 20. Everyone in the business must have a business plan to succeed. There are many ways to do OK in the whitetails. Stay within your price range and lets have fun and enjoy life with whitetails. Where else can you work hard, get paid so little and have so much fun and enjoy company of good people.

HAB you did not offend me dont worry, I think the way I approached this whole subject was wrong and could have been done in a better manner or fashion, so i was the one that was wrong... not to worry

I have sent you a private message

HAB, I was at the sale and watched many deer that were NOT Maxbo line deer sale for good money. Flees, Sundance, Rocket, PA Geronimo, Rolex, Sunny, Mardi Gras, Romeo, Hydro Ax and many other lines are bring a fair market prices these days. In my opinion, Maxbo is the greatest producer ever, however the deer that are selling in todays market are the ones that have 4 SOLID lines wrapped up in one animal. No more of the days of N/A selling for good money. I am proud for Wayne, Rick and all the rest of us that are starting to make a BIG rippell in the deer farming pond. Time will tell what will be "HOT" at the next sale, but, it is amazing to me how fast it can and will change.

As far as posting, I welcome everyones post. It is what make us all stronger. The differences in opinions helps all of us to grow and make OUR industry the best business going today. Check the cattle, horse, hog and goat markets. They don't compare... Darren Deckard made a statement the hit home with me a the sale. His Dad ask him why he was upset about selling a deer for XYZ dollars. His Dad said " I would do back filps for that kind of money on cattle." Sometimes it just takes a little slap in the chops to wake us up. (sorry Darren if I butchered the story)
