Yup i was watching the sale feb 4th and 5th and was just wondering why the big names were not in this sale.Just a question!!I thought the bigger farms with the higher end deer were at all sales because they had lots of deer to move.There was a few good deer at todays sale but not alot.
 
B100888 I think it's because most as stated earlier on this thread. That Big deer farmer or small these auctions are the well established main stays if you will and deer farmers try to get into these auctions for the simple reason they draw the big crowds and give the farms represented there the best exposure. That doesn't mean that thru persistance,trial and error that these other auctions like the Buckeye can't gain popularity and grow. Auctions and Deerfarmers all have to start somewhere! and on another note Michale,Roger,Eric,Will AND ALL OTHERS!! KEEP BRINGIN THAT PASSION AND FIRE THAT'S WHAT KEEPS THE POT STIRRED AND KEEPS IT MOVIN!!!!!!!!
 
Didn't mean to leave Tim and Scott out of my post they keep THE KETTLE BOILING :D (LOL) I'm SURE theres lots of STIFF KNECKED POLITICIANS that can vouch for that!:eek::D:cool:
 
THANKS WAYNE Hopefully if i am able to get some good deer and make some good decisions i will be able to start on the small stage and then the big stage.SOMEDAY!!!

I'm just wondering if there's any business out there where the new folks start on TOP??? Not trying to judge you, but it seems like you have a little chip on your shoulder towards those that have put in YEARS and YEARS in this industry and God forbid they've scraped their way to the top. If I'm off base I apologize, but most of your comments seem to have a little venom in them. Probably not the best way to make your way to the top of an industry that is very tight knit and EVERYONE talks. I'm just saying...
 
B100888 I hope there's no venom there but I can assure you even if you think someones on the big stage that sure don't mean thier big time!
 
No chip or venom here.Not sure where that came from.Trust me i and im sure most new guys are thankfull for the people that got the industry where it is today.We are the luckey one to have the start we have.But i do plan on starting at the top at least in the animal part of it thats why i bought my first deer off the walk farm and then the grizzly farm and i plan on more from some other farms.The way the deer industry looks today if you want have any chance you have to start with the best of the best or you will go nowhere.That showed at the sale today good sold others no so good.Hopefully i can pay my dues and join the parade.But no chip or venom for sure!!!

No sir,no apology needed here.Mabey it was the way i wrote things.Just comin in and going to some of the bigger farms i saw what they had and now i see how much $ and blood sweat and tears they must have put in to get there.I cant imagine ever gettin to where they are.Im just gunna do the best i can,have fun and ride the wave!
 
B100888 Consentrate on the blood,sweat and tears. You will need it more than the MONEY! Focus on the small stuff and the rest will come.
 
WILLPENN I see where our missunderstanding was you were right ,I just recieved the catalog for the eastern ohio sale and just as you said it is packed with just the animals we are all shooting for.Much better than the last ohio sale!!!!!

It's all good. Man, hate to hear that. I can't imagine your driveway with that much snow. To crazy for this OKIE for sure... A man could die up there...lol I have a new rule. NOTHING out of Oklahoma after Oct. 1st. Good luck with all that snow
 
It was pretty brutal... I just about rolled the quad right off the side of the driveway. Got it high centered hanging off the edge. With that much snow it just sucks the blade right into the snow and takes you where IT wants you to go.

After jerking around with the quad for about 4 hours I went down and hooked up the neighbors 3pt blower... that worked a whole lot better!
 
Brother, thats a long way down. I'm just glad I didn't do that with the truck and trailer. I was having some second thoughts for a while...
