guy where do we start....and plz don't say NADefa...

Thanks guys keep the pledges comin.....they are comin slow but steady....if we get enough interest the next step will be to decide who we get to represent our cause.......to fight for our rights as farmers....and to stop with the over regulations and the unfair practices of not compensating us for our losses when our deer need to be slaughtered for unnecessary tests

Did anyone else not get the email that shawn sent out to members today? Sounds like they are on the right path with the TB bloodtest may be passed by end of nov and with steps taken that we can still move deer to ranches with this cwd going on! If anyone did not get it let me know yur email and i will get it to you!

Dennis, I applaud your efforts. I appologize for not seeing this posting before now. With the storm preparations over the weekend and then the loss of my great friend and fellow deer farmer John Rose in the accident on Tuesday, I haven't been focused on things.

I will gladly pledge my $100.00 for the fight. And when this happens I will gladly pledge an extra $100 in honor of John Rose. John was very animate about his fight for the rights of deer farmers.

I am pumped at the farmers that stepped up here and pledged that they are willing to fight for their right to deer farm......I am discouraged that there are so many more that don't feel it is worth it.......it does not matter the size of your farm we are all in this together.......this money is going to a lawyer who WE Would choose to fight for OUR rights....I just don't get it......put a free straw of semen on here and everyone jumps all over it.....ask people to donate to fight for the right to STAY IN BUSINESS and it's like pulling teeth........crazy if you ask me......we deserve what we get..........come on people a simple pledge....for support...then we decide who we want to fight for us...it's a start!!

Im sure when the time is right and everything comes together alot of folks will stand up and help. I sent daniel some emails today for him to look over to see what he thinks. Shawn has some things in the works from the sounds of it and we had a conferance call with our state guy and he says there are Ny farms involved along with other states. We are still on lockdown even inter state movement has stopped and he says this could be a long time comin before it gets figured out!

i am in. I also know someone who isn't internet savy, but has a nice deer farm who also would be in.

I am in.....I do know from years spent trapping and in the organizations that when State ,National, and many other types of organizations are trying to defend for the same thing on their own you have "Paralleling " of efforts . You all get lawyers , you all start programs and procedures to defend yourself when pooling all of the resources with one great great lawyer , pro organizers , ect. instead of the level each small organization could afford on its own , you get a better effect and bang for your buck. Instead of each" sticking their fingers in holes in the dike....you get the dike it replaced." The biggest way to defend is to find other groups of interest to go together to share the load and combine resources to have a better outcome. You , also , get more respect and taken more serious if your member numbers are large and the toes of other groups are also getting stepped on, to see changes. In a nutshell....trying to re-invent what is already in place can take all of your money , time , and resources without getting a result. Might not be what you want to hear , but it is historical facts in the fur harvesting business and they have been fighting for years against the odds and have had to find the best way to keep on keepen on with inferior numbers and resources. # 1 How many of you have had your state legislator and senator to your or someone elses farm for an educational tour.

# 2 How many have invited their US congressman or senator to their or a neighbors farm for education.

# 3 How many have been to your state capitol or Washington to see these people.

# 4 How many have had your Ag or Wildlife people to your farm or a NEIGHBORS FARM TO EDUCATE THEM.

# 5 Get on the phone!!!

# 6 Thats why our laws are good in OKlahoma, through education. Through education we are able to have good relationships with Ag, Wildlife, Legislatively and in Congress.

I have spent tons of money and time on all of these things and they pay off. I never assume they are to busy, after all, they work for me. I have stood with other leaders of the deer farming industry for better rules on CWD and everything else under the sun. Frankly, we could use some help! Money is needed but so are boots on the ground.

Very very good point we have groups of state reps. Every year and in my book it is the very best way to show them first hand the real world and they absolutly have a ball .they also never forget the experience forever .they tell me stories of things we did 5 years ago i had done forgot because they dont get to enjoy the outdoors like we do .tim you are correct.thx jerry stafford

I am new to the forum and have been lurking and reading but I must comment on this post. I am not a deer farmer.....yet hence the user name maybe_someday, but I think it is awesome what you are doing Dennis. Sometimes a grassroot movement is what is needed. Where is everything at with this post? Any updates? I hope things are moving forward.

There has been a group formed (not from me) but none the less the ACA has been formed and are pretty much doing what I was trying to accomplish here....I am excited to see this and by the sounds of it they are exactly what we need!! hopefully they will be able to make some much needed changes to the over regulations we are dealing with currently......one can only hope and Pray!
