Memo to Deer Industry Stakeholders

MIDWEST,You are 100% on the money but i believe virgil's beef is you take a buck that belongs to say john in iowa and mike in ny buys that deer its still worth what it was when john owned it.Now you throw the walks, ainsworth, strawser and so many more big names and they buy that buck its worth just went out of the roof.why, same deer same pedigree. answer time, trust, money, hard work, advertising cant argue with that.they have a name they earned it and we all have the same chance to do the same thing but like you said we wust pay our dues spend some money take some time and build a name and remember there is new blood comin in this bizz and there is some blood thats got a pretty good name started and alot of them post on this website so i think you will see some new names pop up soon with some big names that are there now!

Now you are talkin' Four Seasons. I can't emphasize how much the auctions play a part in what they do (Walks, Ainsworths , & Strawsers). If you are a breeder and are not even going to buy something, you should still attend all the industry events. Auctions, State orgs, and NADeFA conference. You have to build it one contact at a time.

I will never forget Roy Yoder’s words to me fifteen, sixteen years ago. Andy if you raise big bucks people will beat a path to your farm. Roy was so right and they did come. Back then deer farming was a lot easier. Good deer sold themselves. Things have changed in the last years concerning marketing deer. Seems the bigger something gets the more complicated it also gets.

I miss Roy Yoder.

Any one heard from him? How is he?
