Tim, I don't know a lot of the candidates either. But I have a question for the board? Why did the board refuse Charly Seale's nomination for the board of directors? He is probably the most qualified farmer out there! The deer industry will be, and is, going through the biggest crisis in the industries life in the next year or two - The new Federal Rules!
For all the deer farmers out there that aren't paying attention to what's going on in Washington and several of the states listen up.
Charly was the leading force out there to stop the "stupid" Federal rules that would have put a lot of deer farmers out of business, and would have burdened the rest of us. He led, and is helping to lead the effort to change the rules, to make it better for farming deer. The next time you see Charly at an event, go up to him and give him a big thank-you. He has done more for us deer famers than most of you will ever know. To reward him, the NADEFA board refused his nomination?
Federal Rules------Where was NADEFA? There has been to many "yes" people on the board for too many years. Being too passive all these years, allowed the health agencies to regulate us out of business. Maybe it's about time NADEFA draws a line in the sand, and tells the board of health " NO MORE RULES"!!!
NADEFA needs to be more open and listen to input by it's members. I have asked the office and a couple of officers when the General Membership Meeting is? No response. Tim, I will ask you, when is it? Will we see a financial report at this meeting? Input by the membership and transparency only makes NADEFA stronger. If members think the wool is being pulled over their eyes, and they don't have input, the outlook for NADEFA will be bleak.
