Pens????

My first pen I'm planning is in my backyard this pen will have nice shade then my future pens will have some cidars through out each pen as far as shelters are we talkin about lean too types like for cattle or horses in open pasture?

I have trees in all of our pens but each year the bucks take care of thinning them out, even the big trees have rub marks on them.

So man made shelters may be the way to go

Put chain link around the trees you don't want to lose .

Memory Lane,

We are just getting started in deer farming ourselves.

Our first set of pens are almost complete, we built a 120'x120' perimeter fence with

2 50'x100' pens in the center. theres a gate between the pens and each pen has a gate to the alley way theres also a main gate to the alley way from outside.

We plan on putting 3 does in each pen. I have several big oaks in each pen some persimmons and sand plums. it's on a slight slope so that it will drain well.

next spring we will add a 150'x150' pen on the north end for our bucks.
