RED CAP Milk? Lots of questions!

I use straight red cap milk warmed up in a bucket of hot water. I leave fawn on mother for 24-48 hours then i pull and feed 4 times a day as much as they want to eat for first 2 weeks. Then as much as they want 3 times a day for next 8 weeks. Then i switch to 2 times a day for 2 weeks as much as they want. Then 1 time a day as much as they want for 1week. Don't worry about bloating they want bloat like they do if you over feed them on replacers. From the very beginning make sure to have fresh dirt and water every day and after 2weeks i put out feed mix and alfalfa. This year i bottle fed 12 fawns and lost none. My fawns were all bigger and healthier than ever before. I have used many different replacers and had good results but red cap milk is much easier and their is hardly any mess to clean up. Make sure to clean bottles after every feeding they clean much easier there is no residue left like with replacers. Doesn't get any easier than this!

Hey Rick, Add me as well. I have been feeding red cap as well with 0 complaints!!Have never lost a bottle fed and I would just like to see what the difference is between yours and ours and see if I could tweak mine a little bit to make it just that much more easy. thanks alot, really appreciate it!! Sorry I have been away from my computer for several days, I have now sent this to everyone that has requested it it least to the best of my knowledge, If i counted right 58 people have requested this either through this thread, personal emails, and or phone calls. If you have not received and still would like to have please let me know.

I will say it one more time, we profess to have no secret formula nor do we promote that we have the only or the best way oe doing it, it is just another choice

I will say something new here, If I were to differ from the schedule that i have sent I would not feed less milk but would consider more, however i am not a fan of feeding all they want but there are many on here that would disagree and that is fine, I am sure it works for them, this is not a debate but just another option you choose what you think is best for you and your farm

Thank You

Tundra Ridge ,Maybe this will help. Survive-D is an oral vitamin and energy supplement for newborn fawns, weak and off-feed deer. Packaged in a dispensing bottle with instructions for dosage and applications. It is available from Reproduction Resources. You have to do an advanced search and type in survive d. Hope this helps. Allen

Please add us to your list for the schedule when you have time. We are new to the deer side of this and used ADM last yr but from the sounds of it red cap is the way to go. Your post read "use red cap and add 1/2 cup kid replacer" does that mean add 1/2 cup per gallon? Thank you for your time.

Thanx I couldnt find it on any search engine.

Tundra Ridge, The web site is reproductionresources.com Good Luck, Allen

Allen, I have looked many times online for this product. I have been on the reproduction resources website numerous times and can't find it. If I do a search on their website for survive d it gives me a list of 748 items, that really have nothing to do with vitamins. Can you copy and post the link to that page?

OK, I got it to work. It needs to be typed in as survive-d not survive d. -d or not -d that is the question. LMAO

I believe I have sent this to everyone requesting a copy as of this morning including those requests by email and by phone, a couple of you may have gotten twice due to my lack of memory, if you have requested and have not recieved please forgive me and let me know, I will get it to you. Thank You
