RED CAP Milk? Lots of questions!

No problem Rick, Thank you for all the info you have given me. It has helped me a lot for this years plans. Allen

Again this has been sent to everyone that has requested including those by phone and email, if anyone did not recieve please let me know and I will re-send

This is starting to scare me a little, this has been sent out to A LOT of people and like I have said we are not promoting Red Cap or our method of feeding it, we are just responding to a request. It scares me that so many people may adopt an idea or method and if a couple people have a problem that the source of the method will be blamed. If you get enough people and all of them are doing the same thing somone is bound to have problems with an animal dying, or getting sick. Some of you that have called have mentioned that you have used another method in the past and have had no problem, I have told those people why would you even consider changing if you have never had a problem, I sure wouldn't.

Any how, this has been a fun exercise, and hope you all have a great fawning season, and that all your fawns grow like a weed, are healthy, and big, regardless of the feeeding method you use. Please let us all know if you learn something that will benifit the rest of us.

RICK,I saw your clip on u-tube of your wife feeding the fawns with the bottles stuck in the boards.I think that is a neat idea and might try to do something like that.

Mr. Browning,

I would also appreciate a copy of the red cap feeding schedule and method. I also hope your generosity in passing on your personal success does not lead to others blaming you if their results do not match your success. I truly do not think that will be the case, as in the short time that I have been a breeder, I have found only gracious and helpful colleagues in a growing and competative business. Thank you for passing on your knowledge and experience.

Well i guess we better buy some stock in whole milk!! May not be enough to go around this spring!!

This is good for the dairy farmers I guess. The guy who rents my land asked last week if he could wait to pay the rent since he is hurting. He told me he had to take out a loan to get himself through the down prices. That is not funny. But what is funny is I never charged him for using my land all these years. I just always said take good care of it and don't run it down. Then last winter after hearing him always ask what he owed me I finally gave in and said fine pay me if it will make you feel better. But now he can't pay the rent. Great young couple, I hope they make it.

I was thinking the same thing.Rick put his program out there and he must have had 50 request for his fawn program. This will help the farmer somewhat i guess.I just wish i was standing in line behind one of you guys with lots of fawns to feed, The look on the cashiers face would be priceless with a cart full with 10 or 12 gallons of redcap.

I used half red cap and half goat milk for years .But I would like to know how you do yours if you would

thank you

I used red cap last year and would buy 12 gallons at a time and got strange looks but....

My doe had a fawn stuck last year so I ran to the dollar store...and bought 5 tubes of KY Jelly and 6 medicated douches...You should have seen the people look then!
