Hang in there DC. Its this part of the business that takes the worst toll on you as far as I'm concerned. You did all you could for her today and that says more about your character than any post on here could, just keep lovin on them bottle babies, that'll help.....

Hey dc i feel your pain I came home sun morn from looking at deer farms fri and sat 1000 mile rnd trip bottle feeding fawns sun morn noticed 1 girl pink around bottom of one eye just thought irritated didn't know never saw bt or ehd first hand last night both eyes real red and puffy this morn another bottle babie fed and pink around bottom of eye lid this morning started calling said ehd said can't be have vac 2x with our ehd vac fawns 9 weeks old think you got it licked guess not! all still going sure vac didn't hurt have givin each sick fawn 1/4 cc drax 1/2 cc banimine 1 tube probiotic the say give 1/2 cc nu-flor for resp all holding thier own right now lots prayers and we'll see how it goes so i'am pecking this in with a heavy heart right now this day has been a blur so i feel your pain dc i always say livin the dream i guess this is part of the dream we never want to talk about hope you or anyone else doesn't have to deal with this. Saying it SUCKS just don't cover this!
David, sounds more like EHD than bluetongue. You might pull spleen and have vet get it checked for EHD. If it was ehd then nothing was going to work for you. Sorry to hear about your loss. We have all been there.

David , I just got home from Nick's house,( visiting new Grandson) Nick told me you were having trouble. This is the first I got to visit forum today. I am so sorry for your loss they never get any easier. You were given the best advice from experienced people. It just wasn't ment to be. Hang in there ole bud its been a long year. Allen
David, morning should be ok. If you remember when Dr. Pruitt was showing everyone at James house, the spleen will be on the left side( I think). Vet can take it out if your not sure. Good luck on the rest
Hey DC , gosh man I'm so sorry for the lose of your doe. You did all you could and unfortunetly sometimes it's just not the outcome we'd like . You know DC I got to hand it to you , you did all you could and you knew when enough was enough , thats a very very hard decision . Good thing she went on her own , putting one down is not easy nor is it easy to watch them suffer . Sorry Buddy Boy for your lose ....it's always tuff to loose one !!

David, Sorry I left you after phone call, but thats all I knew to do. Come to find out, its NOT bluetounge we have, its EHD. My sick one last night was dead this morning.....all bucks fine at 9:00 a.m............dead two year old buck at 4:00 p.m. I have put two heads in ice box in ONE fricking day. Cant wait for in the morning. THIS IS EHD AND IS WORST SINCE 2005. Southwest winds for last week, so you Tulsa guys, start praying.........

David, sorry for your loss. Know you did everything you could. Hope the wife is taking it OK. I know mine would be at a total loss. That is why i hate for her to get so close to the deer, but when you bottle feed it is hard not to .
Dc, I know it won't matter now but when you check the spleen you will be able to see if she had fawns. That might give you an idea if your other doe's will fawn. Just a thought.

Just got in and seen your S.O.S. for help. Sorry bud. It always seems like it's the special ones that we like the most and would give the shirts off our backs to save. It indeed sucks losing them.
