dearjohn, Say what you want but you wasn't trying to be funny. That's easy to see by your previous post's. Plain and simple.

So easy to take a guy the wrong way when all you see are words on a screen. All I was saying is you get a mans hopes up then let him down ha ha he he!!! Did not mean any thing bad aboit it.



On a personal note when I make mistake I do try to make things right though. If I had a good draw I would give him a straw any how. thats just me whats one straw more gonna hurt.

I have been in my share of "misunderstandings" on these forums. I have been right on some of them and wrong on some of them. BUT, it doesn't matter right or wrong sometimes, we are all entitled to our opinions and the way we conduct business on our farms.



However, I do see both sides of this arguement. BUT the bottom line is that the person in charge of the contest is responsible for keeping track of all the entries and the guesses that were made. It is up to them to declare WHO the winner is and award the prizes. If they inadvertantly, declare the wrong person the winner, then an obvious mistake has been made. In the name of good business, I think something should be offered for the mistake.



I am torn on whether the first winner should get a straw of SE, but I feel that he should be given something for his trouble. I haven't seen him on here bad mouthing anyone or making a fuss, so he is taking things like a man. And for that alone I feel he should be rewarded. Perhaps there is another straw made available to him instead of SE. Just an option.



Like I said, I have been in my share of arguments on here. I am not trying to stir anything up, just giving an outsiders opinion. Remember guys, we are all on the team. We can agree to disagree, and still be friends.

I Disagree with all of u.....I think Jim should have to give Sudden Explosion himself to Chad for such a horrible mistake..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim I cannot believe u made a mistake u terrible person u.....BAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAAHAHH.......IM SMILING..!!!!!!!! This is funny that this is such a BIG DEAL.

The only ones that are making a big deal of it are the ones that DIDN"T win !!

I hadn't even placed a guess so I am not upset that I didn't win. I suck so bad at guessing scores that I have only tried one or two times over the years. Now I don't even bother trying. That is why I always had guys come to my place to est scores on my deer and would use their knowledge and abilities to guide me when projecting estimated scores.

I know what you mean, Roger. Sometimes I can get close and others, I am way off. I have been very lucky and been close of a few of the contests this year. I did win a straw of Texas tea from WillPenn Whitetails.



Some bucks can be judged and some can't. I have been surprised by some of my bucks and disappointed by others over the years.



This is a great way to keep things interesting for all of us.

I've know Jim for about 4 years now, and I can say that you'd be hard pressed to find a more humble, down to earth, plain old good guy than Jim. Hope your breeding season goes well Jim. Let's catch up again about a possible date for some Tea and SE girls and boys. Texas Explosion - WATCH OUT!

Lol. I think that if the two people it affected are not fussing about it then everyone else needs to mind their own business. This is stupid. Jim is a good person and has a beautiful buck and he didn't have to give crap away!! He was being nice. Look at where that got him !!! Good luck on breeding season as I will hopefully have some explosion babies hit the ground

Richie, I think you said it better than anyone else. I agree.

I see a bunch of guys pretty much saying the same thing only in different ways. We all agree Jim was being very generous in offering a free straw of his deer and he shouldn't feel bad about doing a nice thing. Thanks for the chance Jim. It was very generous of you. Sudden Explosion is a great deer. Best of Luck with him.

To follow up on the contest, Chad Nolte called me and let me know that after he was told he won the straw he immediately ordered (bought) three doe to AI to Sudden Explosion. Quite a commitment I thought, so I let him know he would get a straw. Then he called this week to get my opinion on the pedigree of a doe he wanted to ai to SE. Hmmmmm?

Honesty is the best policy......if there is any dishonesty going on it will eventually come out in the long run!

I would have to think after all this the chances will be slim for anyone to ever get a free ride on SI......Cant say i would disagree!!
