<subHow Ironic you would post something about Wideout today. I lucked out and won a straw of Wideout had a hard time deciding what to put it in so I decided to put it in my 1-1/2 year old Rolex/Shadow doe and take the chance on the yearling that she would take her first year.</sub

<subWell I lost my Rolex doe to Pnuemonia yesterday. So we cut her open to see what was up. well 2 babies about the size of honey bees. We AI on Nov. 9TH The vet says the little ones would be about 1-1/2 months to develope like that without knowing my AI date. Really Really sick right now.</sub

Cassie,

Sorry to hear the news.  I see on another post a while back that you were trying to decide what to breed to Wideout.  That would have been my choice also.    .....That sucks!!!

Hopefully things will change for the better for you.

Thanks Zane, I wish you good luck, hope both your does take to Wideout. I really like him, I know that their are a lot of great deer out there. But he has to be one of the best. You can bet I will be saving up for another shot next year.

Merry Christmas to All

Memory Lane,

I too have been looking and I have not found a buck as wide or wider. I have spoken with a lot of farmers as well, same results. Thank you as always for the kind words. He certainly is special.

Zane,

Thank you for the kind words. I am very excited for you. I appreciate your business and can't wait to see the results.

Cassie,

I am extremely saddened by the news. From your post, I assume you used the entire straw on her. Please call me tomorrow to discuss.

Daniel

Just a lil something I threw together on WIDEOUT!

Dear fellow farmers:

I am writing to let everyone know that we have retired from the deer business. Jim Moses of Dakota Whitetails has purchased our herd and all of our deer have now been relocated to Jim's farm in Ohio. I want to thank everyone for their business over the years. The herd is in good hands with Jim, Eric and the entire Dakota Whitetails team. The month of May will bring them fawns out of some of my most promising matchups yet. I encourage you to contact them regarding fawns, semen and other options. Sundragon and Wideout growing in pens next to one another will be something to see.

Thanks again for all of the business and support over the years.

Daniel, I am happy I got to meet you and visit your farm several times this past summer. You had the one of the best set ups, and no doubt some of the best animals in the country. Congrats on your sale, I hope you and Jim benefit greatly from the sale of your herd. Take care and God bless

Thank you guys. What kind words Matt. Best of luck to you guys. I know deer farming is a passion for you guys and I wish you both the best of luck.

Daniel, What made you decide to get out. I know you still love deer. But anyway best of luck with whatever hobby you choose. Make sure to check in once in awhile. Later

Cassie, a tremendous amount of thought went into the decision and it was not an easy one. The deer business, done right, is a 365 day of the year job. It requires constant attention to detail in order to be successful. That's not to mention the time required to simply keep up with the day to day duties. I love deer farming (breeding especially), accomplished some great things and I was satisfied at this time in my life that it was what was best all the way around. Finding the time necessary to continue doing it right was my biggest driving force. It is a bitter sweet end to a very passionate part of my life.

Thank you for your support.
