No Dear John we had a storm here with very high winds....can you figure the rest out?! I doubt it! As far as it being a joke......there is a time to joke and a time not too....when someone has a deer escape I would say is not a good time to joke......

Deer out in Pa at this point in time is not even close to being a joke. I really do hope you find her. That would probably help us all!

The product I used is Plastic Geotextile and it came in 12'x100' rolls. I bought mine from T.E.A.M. Supply Inc. but I would think that you can get it from any industrial supply store. The key is to make sure it is the plastic and NOT the fabric. The plastic is very durable.

Yep, I just sold all my three year olds. Thanks for the nice comment. I will get you the specs on that material, I bought it from an industrial supply store. It was well worth it. I attached it to the fence with firring strips ( one on each side of the fence) to prevent tearing. The stuff comes in long lengths and you have to cut it, I used a chainsaw.

I'm sure the dogs can smell them but they can't see the deer so they move on. I've been present when dogs were there without the material and the dogs would get worked up by the sight of the deer panicking. The dogs chase instinct will kick in and they won't stop barking and chasing. When they couldn't see...they just moved on with no barking.

nice thanks smell but no see works , great news ,:)

We have a Great Pyranesee and we love him. He has free run on the farm and if anything comes close he is on it. The deer know him and don't even pay any atension to him, not even when he is barking and running along the side of the pens. I would be lost with out him.Hope this helps. I have a lab and she let's me know if anything or body is around and deer lick her threw the fence so dogs can mix with deer they just have to have time to fit in.

Thank you Tom. That is what I wanted to know. I have no idea where to get a couple though. I have been searching for breeders.

I have one strand of electric about 12" high all around perimeter of pens and I also have a great pyranees,my farm has a large population of coyotes and I have no problems at all,put a 20 or 30 mile charger.if they touch it,it will only be once.

Does anyone know where I could find a Great Pyrenees Breeder in PA or OH?

Thanks

I use a 100 mile charge on 10 acers and lay 4 foot fence down in front of my fence and attack it to the bottom so nothing can dig under and like I said earlier my lab barks anytime a stray comes around and when I let her out she goes to the gate and licks the deer.

May sound strange, but has anyone ever used any type of horses or even a zebra? Zebra's are known for their aggression supposidely. Farm i did some work for a couple years ago had one lol never saw him in action but i also never saw a dog after that LOL.

I have a donkey in my buck pen. 3 years ago before I put down the predator wire a coyote dug in and the donkey cornered and killed him. I would love to have been there to see that action but I missed it.
