Amen to that AppleCreek......may the Lord wrap Sam in his healing hands and deliver him from this awful disease!! Sam will be in my prayers and thoughts!!

About a year ago My oldest brother went thru his 2nd bout with cancer and it came back with a vengence. Doctors gave him a few months to live and it was very difficult for our whole family. We asked many churches in our area to put him in their prayer chain, and all of us prayed for him also. We all knew God can do anything, but at the same time, we were helping him and his immediate family prepare for his death. My brother went thru the usual treatments, Chemo and radiation, and still the doctors gave him a slim chance to survive given the aggressiveness of his cancer. Well, God allowed a miracle to take place . ever since the end of his treatments until today, He is in full remishon from cancer.

One point I would like to make to everyone reading this is PRAY WITH CONFIDENCE. We all prayed for my brother but in the back of our minds we expected him to die and we proved it to ourselves by believing what the doctors were telling us as firm truth.

It seems easy to pray for someone and tell yourself that you believe God can heal them, but real faith in what God can and will do escapes many of us when we pray.

I will pray for Sam with complete confidence. I challenge all who pray for Sam to dig deep and really believe in what they are praying for.

Thank-You All so much...

I will make sure the prayers get passed on.

Tom...Thank-you so much for sharing.I will keep your family in my prayers.

I don't know if anyone has heard the name Randy Pausch

He was a Professor at a local University...a father a husband...a true god send for his short time on Earth...

I have been going to post his story on here for so long...

He put on a program called The last Lecture...I feel everyone ought to watch it...It is truly life changing...If you don't know if it is worth the $ write me privately...

I will send you my copy and ask that you share it...With as many people as you can... then mail it back, so I could send it to the next on the list.

PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE!

2riv I am so glad to hear about your brother. May the Lord continue to bless him and your family......you are exactly right in what you say about praying. I wish others would realize that prayer does work. God does listen!! The problem with most is when they pray they really don't believe in what they are praying for and really don't believe that it can be fixed and this means they have little or NO faith in GOD. If you have no faith in your father why should he help you? He wants you to believe in him completely.

When you pray as it is stated you pray with ALL (not 1/3 or 1/2) ALL your heart believing fully that God will answer your prayer and he will without a doubt he will!!

Dennis,

My whole family and I have seen first hand that God does heal and answer prayers. Not just with my brother ,but in other occasions, too. I really believe that this miracle happened ,atleast in part, to wake us all up a bit and let us realize we weren't praying and acting in faith.

Painted Meadows, Thankyou for the link, I will check it out.

Sorry to change the subject here, but there is another topic that may need a lot of help from above. Let us all pray for unity and the right plan for helping this industry and its' Hunting preserve/shooter buck issue. I am sure many are praying about the issue, but I think UNITY is something that will be key in overcoming tough issues this industry has to contend with. Let us let the Lord lead us .

Tom,

Amen to that ........I have been praying for this and for the Lords help to get us on the right track as far as our industry is concerned......Tom you have not changed any subject....this thread is for any and ALL prayers!!

I am quite fond of Genesis, especially -

And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God he created him;

male and female he created them.

John good verse. We were made in the Fathers image. God is Spirit and we are also wonderfully made with a spirit. That is how we communicate with the Trinity.

All of our lives we were taught we were physical beings having a temporary spiritual experience. But in reality we are spiritual beings having a temporary human experience.

I’m almost disappointed one of you men did not invite me to this forum.

As soon as I started to read this forum I could feel the Spirit and the unity of Godly men.

Where God and Godly men are I like to sit in their counsel.

Concerning prayer: I have learned the heart of prayer is prayer from the heart. And in prayer seek God for who He is and not for what He can do.

Here is a story I really like

Puppies for sale

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups. And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy "one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran

Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg, attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

"How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Wisdom,

I loved the story.....it brought tears to my eyes......as read the story I realized that I have let my guard down lately and the Devil has taken full advantage of that and i have strayed a bit off the path......why this story made me come to realize is beyond me .....but thank you!! We all need a little nudge once in a while to get us back on track.......thanks for the Nudge!! I needed it!!

I thank God and you men and wowen for this forum. This is where the rubber meats the road when men humble them selves to talk about God and to seek Him.

Father I pray a blessing upon each and every person reading this thread. In the name of Jesus I pray favor over their families, work and their deer. May you become more alive in each or our lives and we die to self.

Amen

Wisdom,

I was just telling you about my straying off the path a little and that your story helped me .......I have not been the happiest fellow lately....I have been missing church as well...........I have been impatient with my son who I love more than anything........anyhow, I broke down the other night and asked our great father for help once again.........I then receive this story from you above which heped me and today I received this email from a very close Christian Brother that I have done Bible studies with....he not only sent me this email but he felt compelled to ask me to meet with him and another brother for coffee........if this isn't God working in my life I don't know what is.......You ask and HE will answer!! Below is what my email said...August 29, 2009

Spiritual Habits of Effective People: Meeting Regularly

by Rick Warren

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another” (Hebrews 10:25 NLT).

We develop spiritual fitness when we meet regularly and encourage one another. When you get together with other believers regularly, this is called fellowship—sharing and caring together in a small group.

Do you ever need encouragement? Life can be tough and we all get discouraged. The fact is you’re never going to be an effective Christian if you try to go it alone. You need encouragement. You need other people. Life was not meant to be lived by itself.

I grew up in northern California in a little town called Redwood Valley. Just north of us were the giant redwoods. Redwood trees have very shallow roots. They withstand the wind by spreading out and intertwining roots and they hold each other up. What a perfect picture of fellowship! We spread out, we intertwine, and we hold each other up. We strengthen each other.

Snow flakes are frail, but if enough of them stick together they can stop traffic. You can’t do a whole lot and I can’t do a whole lot, but together in a group we can do something. We can have an impact on this world.

Let me mention that I meet people who say, “I’m going to miss church this week. It’s no big deal.” They are simply unaware how you can dry up spiritually whenever you miss fellowship with other believers. In fact, you need to be in constant contact with other Christians, even beyond what you get on Sunday. You need more than just a “Sunday fix.” Every Christian needs a balance between large group celebration/worship and small group fellowship.

You need a big group so you can say, “I’m a part of something significant.” But you can’t share prayer requests within a large group; you can’t pray for each other; you can’t even know everybody. So you need to be in a small group, also.

What’s the result of getting together with other believers? “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 NIV).

My new goal in life, not to make the most money, not to grow the biggest deer. Want to be the man, when my feet hit the floor in the morning the devil say "Oh Crap" , he's up.
