Wanna Guess "The BIG RIG" Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard? Its true we will never know how big he really would have been if he had not needed to be cut, he was clearly going to blow away his score from last year. But what he did grow, up until he was cut is what he scored this year. Sounds like more sour grapes to me? Just My opinion?

Sour grapes? why would you say that? apparently if they had to cut him there was a good reason........it stinks that they had to but I'm sure he probably couldn't hold his head up......they certainy weren't going to risk his life on the account of this free contest.....maybe I'm not following you or something on this one.......why are you saying it sounds like more sour grapes peakwhitetails?

Wouldn't be the first time I read something wrong.....that's why I asked if I was not reading something right ......I would just hate to see people stop offering the generous contests for a free straw of semen........

Big Rig is pushing truly large amounts of bone and doing so through large amounts of blood flow. High scores is one thing. But in my opinion breeding with these high scoring monster bucks is all about obtaining the highest amount of blood flow. High blood flow and high scores are not the same thing. I will take high score AND high blood flow over just high scores any day of the week and twice in Sundays. We all know breeding a buck to a doe doesn't mean the offspring will look like or be as big as the sire. But by breeding high blood flow sires into our does we hope to obtain monster bucks based on what the frame is that was built into the doe being bred. To do so I would rather breed with a buck that had so much blood flow he couldn't hold up his head rather than a buck that simply scored high.

And yes whatever he scored when he was cut is indeed a score and is worth knowing for informational purposes. Big Rig appears to be a true master of blood flow. Congrats to Harry for producing an awesome buck!

I second that Rodger. Awesome buck. You have had some nice ones also so don't cut your self short. David Westbrook Cloudy Creek Whitetails

I believe the point was that he didnt carry his rack full term and shed his velvet!! Either way i think he still scored whatever he did, Heck i guess he would have went higher full term. Its to bad we have deer that cant cary their racks to full term but it is what it is!

Ya I guess that is a bad thing but a problem I wouldn't mind having if they were as big as him lol

That's what everyone says when they don't have a buck with antlers so big and massive they have to cut them.

It's funny how these people sing a different song when they finally get one that has to be cut!

If you asking if i want to look out my window and see my bucks with their heads on the ground and points all cut up..No thanks!! If thats my trade off to have big bucks i will live on the 200 to 300 inchers. I dont believe that was the case with Big Rig when he was cut. I believe he broke a drop.

My song will stay the same!!!

Just to clarify things up, I was there to help cut Big Rig, and he was NOT cut because he couldn't hold his head up! He carried his head gear fine he just happened to have a little run in with some trees. And Roger this deer s definetly producing blood flow, there's no doubt about that. All I have to say is Harry has one outstanding and healthy looking buck!

Harry always has outstanding looking bucks. He built a herd of does triggered to produce large framed bucks and they get it done. I am just happy for Harry that Big Rig is doing well. It would be a shame to lose a special buck like Big Rig.

Tyler was there any pics taken when you had him down? I think it would be cool to see a person in relation to what a 600"+ rack looks like.

Jared, I know this isn't exactly what you asked for but I does show perspective. Here are some of the breeders from Mountain Ridge Whitetails. This was taken a year ago and there are some other up and coming breeders that are not on here. I was so impressed when I saw these in person, I had to have this photo taken. Rigid, the sire to Big Rig, is on the left. Obviously, Big Rig is on the right in the first photo. Max DB is to my immediate right and Big Heavy is on the far right.

We really didn't have a chance to take pics of Big Rig as our number 1 objective was to get him cut so we could get the blood to stop, and what a process that was. We worked for over an 1.5 hrs straight to save this guys life and thankfully we did. The blood flow that was coming from his antlers was just unbelievable and thats what made it so difficult to work him, getting squirted in the face by blood and standing in pools of blood, not a pretty sight. All I can say is that it is unfortunate that he needed to be cut, (do to an injury, not that he couldn't hold his head up) but I can truly say that I was glad that I could be part of helping to save this guys life!
