I ai'd 10 doe on nov 4 and 7 have had fawns whats the chances that the other three took to ai and are just late. I know it is long shot now but what is the longest some of your does have gone. PS, Dennis you shouldn't have used goat semen.

Had my first Bm Bismark fawns this weekend. One buck and one doe. Both big fawns, and the doe will be on fox valley. I will post pictures on the study.

Hey Reed, I feel the same way as you do. It was taking forever, i was so bored waiting i would sweep the barn everyday just wishing i had some dang fawns here. Well good luck and i hope all works out for you. What formula are you using?

Hey Dennis, how did I get included in this coversation? If a pole dance will put a smile on your face get me a BIG pole and I`ll have ya laughing. :D

NO David, one on the pole at a time.

I had 2 live breed does this year. Both does had twin's,each of them had a buck fawn and a doe fawn.I guess I cant ask for much more than that.Very happy.

Congrats Ky!:D Are you bottle feeding any? I had a hard time getting my first girl to take b/c I was trying to do it right away and not give her a night to get hungry. She fought me tooth and nail for three or four feedings. Yesterday, I picked up day old doe fawn from another farm @ 2pm and didn't try to feed her until 5:30am this morning. I still had to pry her jaw open but she was sucking before I could get the bottle all the way seated in her jaw.:) I read it before several times but I just had a hard time leaving those cute little bugers alone when they first got pulled. Now I know why all have been preaching this method. Good luck fawners!

Hey Rusty,

Glad to hear your fawns are taking the bottle good. Still fighting 'em up here. We'll soon have 10 on the bottle. No new fawns today, but we had 24 in the past week.

Fawns are really starting to drop daily now. On Sat we got twins (buck & doe) sired by Matrix out of our newest addition, a first time mother we purchased from Ron & Mary Pierce. The doe's sire is Avalanche, and her dame is Adrenaline's mom. Couldn't wait for the fawns to come, and now that we have a buck fawn, can't wait for horns to grow next year.

Also have another first time doe bred to Matrix purchased from Ron & Mary that should fawn this week.

Yesterday morning, our Redoy Weatherby doe had twins (didn't check as she was just cleaning them off) that were sired by our Maxbuck.

Last week, our Walk's Savage doe had triplets, (two does & a buck) which were sired by our Maxbuck.

We had our first fawns over the weekend! A stillborn (i was really looking forward to that breeding too!)... then 2 sets of triplets and 2 sets of twins...our due date is not until June 5th, but HERE THEY COME! All healthy too! We pulled the 2 smallest out of the trips....a Cocky son and an Amos daughter. Now the fun begins! ; ) Hope everyone else is doing well with theirs!

Hi Lisa, Congrats on the fawns coming. We are right in the heat of things here. Several on the bottle and still more dropping yet. Had a set of twins this morning again. It has been a good spring so far. Have fun!

Our second round has started, We Ai'd all our first year does on Nov. 27 and the first one went last night, a little early (day 185) but she had 2 nice sized fawns, 18 to go should be a busy week. Good Luck.

Yes Rusty,I am bottle feeding again this year.I bottle feed all of my fawn's.Some time's it is a pain in the butt. For a little extra work in the begining,it sure pay's of in the long run.It is nice when you can put your hand's on them. When you need to give them a injectable meds and not have to dart.

Im still waiting on my first fawns for the year, from live bred does. A little unusal because the past 2 years they were all done by now. Just watched them all this evening, none have even bagged up yet, oh well, hopefully they'll start by the weekend. Im usually a patient guy, but they are really testing me, I am extra excited this year because i may have some pied fawns.

We had our first Lap-AI'd fawns on May 29 AM 2 buck fawns

another doe had 1 doe fawn in the PM, both of these were form

Apollo 13

On May 31 we had a live cover give triplets(2 bucks and 1 doe fawn) these were out of Billy which is Mr Bills son

We have 2 more live covers left but think it will be a little longer for them

I am bottlefeeding the three of the quints that are still alive they are doing great, the other two had breathing problems from the start and didn't make it. They were small ( 2-2.5 lbs). I am useing one of our facility corrals to keep the fawns in and at 2 1/2 wks they are dropping fairly solid dark pellets, in the past I housed them in a small barm and kept them inside for the first 4 wks , which with our weather sometimes was a necessity (this morning I could see my breath when I went out to the deer at 8 am) we have always given greens ,dirt and free choice feed to the fawns in the barn but I am starting to think that fawns raised on or allowed to spend part of their day on the ground outside might be as benefitial to them as all the probiotics, yogurt, pumpkin or any other rumen fixating remedy out there. I know someone will have an opinion

I am really excited. I just finished watching one of last years doe fawns have her first fawn. Wow, what a big baby, but she did a good job.

It is pretty exciting because the mother is from Max Thrust and the fawn she just had is from Updraft. I can't wait to go see if it is a boy or girl:)
